Hawker centres and wet markets can be found at the heart of every housing estate in Singapore. Beyond capturing their activity and energy, I wanted to draw attention to the services and architectural features that make these spaces comfortable. By showing their full height, they are treated as monumental spaces – after all, in Singapore, eating is a national pastime and food a national obsession.
